We are looking for a Server and Infrastructure Engineer to join our public service client based in Hindlip. In this role, you will offer technical support to external and internal customers within the organisation. This is perfect for a candidate looking to participate in an essential sector of our community that plays a vital role in the overall security of the UK.

Criteria:

  • Experience with Microsoft Products, networks, VMware, Storage and Back-up Storage, various OS environments and Business applications.
  • Excellent level of customer service skills.
  • Ideally, be in 3rd or 4th line support currently
  • Knowledge of emerging technology and current industry best practices.
  • Qualification, degree or equivalent experience in IT
  • ITIL certification – ideal, not essential
  • Experience in a specialist technical support environment for both hardware and software.

Essential being an SME in at least one of the following areas:

  • Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services
  • Microsoft Exchange Email services
  • Microsoft Servers, Roles and Features (PowerShell, IIS, DNS, DHCP, ADFS .. and so on)
  • Microsoft SCCM (Not just patching and endpoints, needs to be able to demonstrate architecture-level knowledge for this)
  • Virtualisation, such as Hyper-V and/or VMWare
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure – such as Citrix VDA
  • Identity management – SailPoint
  • Cryptography and security principles
  • Security threats and mitigations
  • Load balancers (Including GSLB)
  • Cloud / Microsoft Office 365 – (such as DNS, Azure, Migration and administration.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality end-to-end ICT Service
  • Providing a high level of technical support.
  • Offering seamless support to suppliers/partners.
  • Working on projects of varying sizes
  • Creating knowledge-based articles for team and customer reference (where necessary)
  • Diagnosing faults with technical systems and taking appropriate action.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging technology and industry best practices.
  • Managing the implementation of system upgrades.
